Export packaging of raw beans


Raw beans are usually packed in gunny bags. When different coffee-producing countries in the world export coffee beans, they usually use gunny bags of 70kg or 69kg (only Hawaiian coffee is packed in 100lb). It is generally divided into bagged and canned.


  • Bagged:


Bagging is generally divided into non-airtight packaging, vacuum packaging, one-way valve packaging, and pressurized packaging.


Non-airtight packaging:


It is a temporary packaging, which is only used for short-term storage.


vacuum packing:


The roasted coffee beans need to be placed for a period before packaging to prevent damage to the packaging by carbon dioxide. Such packaging can generally be stored for about 10 weeks.


Check valve packing:


A one-way valve is added to the packaging bag to allow the generated carbon dioxide to be eliminated but prevent the entry of external gas, ensuring that the coffee beans will not be oxidized but will not prevent the loss of aroma. These packages can be stored for up to 6 months. Some coffees are also packaged with vent holes, that is, only vent holes are made on the packaging bag without installing a check valve. In this way, once the carbon dioxide generated by the coffee beans is drained, the outside air will enter the bag and cause oxidation, so the storage time will be greatly reduced.


Pressurized packaging:


After roasting, the coffee beans are quickly vacuum-packed and then filled with inert gas for sealing. This kind of packaging can ensure that the coffee beans will not be oxidized and the aroma will not be lost. It has enough strength to ensure that the packaging will not be damaged by air pressure, and can be stored for up to two years.


  • Canned:


The cans are generally metal and glass, and both are equipped with plastic covers for easy sealing.


Instant coffee packaging


The packaging of instant coffee is relatively simple. Generally, it is packed in small sealed bags, mainly in long strips. In addition, it is equipped with an outer packaging box. Of course, there is also some canned instant coffee on the market.
