The reason for the leakage of the stand-up pouch mainly lies in the selection of composite materials and the strength of heat seal.
The material selection of the stand-up pouch is very important to prevent leakage, the purpose is to improve the peel strength between the outer layer and the middle barrier layer, the barrier layer and the heat seal layer material and the heat seal strength of the bag. Therefore, it is required that the surface tension of the composite surface of the film must be greater than 38dyn/cm; the low-temperature heat-sealing performance of the inner heat-sealing film is better, and the surface tension of the heat cover must be less than 34dyn/cm; Solid low-viscosity adhesive, high-purity organic solvent.
②Heat seal strength
Low heat seal strength is also one of the important factors affecting the leakage of stand-up pouches. When heat sealing, the matching relationship between heat sealing temperature, heat sealing pressure and heat sealing time should be adjusted. In particular, we should pay attention to the heat-sealing temperature of bags with different structures. Because the melting points of different types of plastic films are different, the heat-sealing temperature is also different; The layer is sheared by the heat-sealing knife in the high-temperature molten state, which reduces the sealing strength.
In addition, the four-layer seal at the bottom of the stand-up pouch is the most critical part, and the heat-sealing temperature, heat-sealing pressure and heat-sealing time can only be determined after full test verification.
In the actual production process, the stand-up pouch should be leak tested according to the different requirements of the contents. The simplest and most practical method is to fill the bag with a certain amount of air, heat seal the mouth of the bag, put it into a basin filled with water, and squeeze different parts of the bag with your hands. If no air bubbles escape, the bag is the sealing and airtightness of the air leak is good; otherwise, the heat-sealing temperature and pressure of the leaking part should be adjusted in time.
Stand-up pouches containing liquids should be treated with more caution. Squeeze and drop methods can be used to detect whether they are leaking, such as filling a certain amount of water in the pouch, sealing the mouth, and testing according to the pressure test method of GB/T1005-1998. The drop test method can also refer to the above-mentioned standards.

Flatness is one of the indicators to measure the appearance quality of packaging bags. In addition to material factors, the flatness of stand-up pouches is also related to factors such as heat-sealing temperature, heat-sealing pressure, heat-sealing time and cooling effect. If the heat-sealing temperature is too high or the heat-sealing pressure is too high or the heat-sealing time is too long, the composite film will shrink and deform.
Insufficient cooling will result in insufficient shaping after heat sealing, unable to eliminate internal stress and cause wrinkles in the bag, so the process parameters should be adjusted, and the cooling water circulation system should work properly.
Symmetry not only affects the appearance of the stand-up pouch, but also affects its sealing performance. The most common asymmetry of the stand-up pouch is often reflected in the bottom material part. Due to improper control of the tension of the bottom material, the round hole on the bottom surface will be deformed or wrinkles will be generated due to the tension mismatch with the main material, and the heat-sealing strength will be reduced.
When the round hole of the bottom material is deformed, it is necessary to properly reduce the tension of the discharge and increase the waiting time for correction during heat sealing, so that the intersection of the four layers at the bottom of the bag can be fully heat-sealed.
In addition, the asymmetry of the bag shape will also be related to factors such as photoelectric tracking, feeding, cursor design, rubber roller balance, stepper motor or servo motor synchronization. This problem should be solved according to the specific operation of different products and different bag making equipment.
